Appendix G. Summary of model selection for microsite-scale mortality analysis.

Comparison of models for small scale mortality rate based on daily observations of settlement and disappearance in 2005. Fitted parameters are a constant (C), fish age (A), group size (G), settler density (D), predator abundance (P), habitat rugosity (R), and group category (GC = 1, 2, > 2). AIC difference (deltasubi) is the difference between the AICc of model i and the lowest AICc observed. Akaike weight (wi) is calculated as the model likelihood, exp(-deltasubi/ 2), normalized by the sum of all model likelihoods; values close to 1 indicate greater confidence in the selection of a model.
