Appendix B. Association between forest fragment area and species richness.
We fit a linear model of fragment area (in hectares) on species richness, for all four species groups in all six station types. We report here the slopes associated with these linear models, with the 95% confidence interval provided in parentheses. In all instances, the confidence interval passed through zero and consequently we failed to find a significant association between area and richness in all 24 cases.
