Appendix C. Difference in size and genetic structure between settlers and recruits based on size at hatching for both natural and augmented selection regimes.

TABLE C1. Difference in size and genetic structure between settlers and recruits based on size at hatching for both natural and augmented selection regimes. 10, 20, or 30 of the smallest or largest fish were removed from either the settler sample with complimentary random removals from the recruit sample, or vice versa. phiST and significance values were calculated in Arlequin. To determine whether phiST values resulting from analytical manipulations of selection were significantly greater than the value phiST =0.016 resulting from natural selection alone, alternative P values were calculated from 1000 random replicates in which 10, 20, or 30 individuals were removed at random, simultaneously from both settlers and recruits. Significance values less than 0.05 are noted with an asterisk. Mean sizes of settlers and recruits as well as the difference between these two are reported in mm.
