Appendix C. Comparison of adjusted R2 values for linear and quadratic regressions between functional diversity and environmental productivity.

TABLE C1. Results of regressions between functional diversity (FD) and environmental productivity (total phosphorus concentration, TP) showing the adjusted coefficient of determinations (R2 adj) for the linear and quadratic cases. Functional diversity was calculated using combinations of five traits: (1) adult body size, (2) CV of adult body size, (3) habitat, (4) trophic group, and (5) feeding type. The value in bold marks the highest coefficient which determined that traits 1 and 4 were retained for all further analyses involving FD.
