Data are high tide water temperatures (the mean from 2 hours before to 2 hours after each high tide, n = 2 high tides per date) recorded by intertidal dataloggers adjacent to the snail enclosures. For graphical presentation, data were smoothed with a running means function that averaged each observation with those of the two preceding and two following high tides.
