Appendix A (FIG. A1). Distributions of adult size classes across years in six of 20 paternal lineages in one cohort of an experimental population of Plantago lanceolata in Shadwell, Virginia, from 2001 to 2009. Seven adult size classes were recognized, including (1) tiny adult ( ≤ 5 basal leaves), (2) small adult (5 < x ≤ 15 basal leaves), (3) small-medium adult (15 < x ≤  25 basal leaves), (4) medium adult (25 < x ≤ 50 basal leaves), (5) medium-large adult (50 < x ≤ 75 basal leaves), (6) large adult (75 < x ≤ 100 basal leaves), and (7) giant adult ( > 100 basal leaves). Only data for cohort 1 is shown. Data shown for sires 102 (a), 106 (b), 2 (c), 26 (d), 52 (e), and 84 (f).
