Following reintroduction of fire to ponderosa
pine forests in the Cedar Grove area of Kings
Canyon National Park, California, USA, burns
have been invaded by the alien grass Bromus
tectorum
(cheatgrass). Therefore, the National
Park Service has indefinitely halted precription
burning in these forests.
